Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies

This recipe creates the most delicious raw cookie dough that I have ever tasted.

Blend together:
1 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses

Stir in:
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 1/2 cups of flour
1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Chill dough for about a half an hour. Drop cookies from a spoon onto cookie sheet. Place a raisin in the middle of each cookie (if you like raisins). This recipe makes quite a few cookies so either you need to use multiple cookie sheets or you need to make multiple batches of cookies. Cookies burn easily so I try to use parchment paper to line the cookie sheet to avoid burning and sticking. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Everyone's oven is different and the cookies may cook faster in your oven. Check them to see if they are getting brown. If so, remove them before the 15 minutes are up. Cool and store in container with a tight lid. Yum. I'm eating one , (sorry, make that three), right now.

Finally made the cookies. Mine doesn't look quite as cookie-like as yours, but totally delicious. I'd like a post a picture of my cookies on here, but can't figure out how ...
