Since gingerbread men may not be sophisticated enough for a freshman to share with his residence floormates, I have made what tastes like gingerbread but looks more like a regular cookie. Today's recipe is for my grandmother's old-fashioned molasses cookies. You can buy molasses in any grocery store and it is the critical ingredient in this recipe. Remember, when you are baking, it is important to get the ingredients and measurement right. You can take more liberties when cooking.
So, Nephew #2, if you are reading this, make sure that you check your mailbox in a couple of days. What you find will make you think of Christmas.

Brenda, excellent blog!!
Do you have any ideas of a 'creamy dessert' that I can make Eric for his birthday? He mentioned that he would like something creamy, similar to creme brulee but NOT creme brulee... any ideas? Such a strange request!!
